Polar FT40 Perfect for what I need.
This HRM is just what I needed. It is simple to operate, helps me to make the necessary amount of effort towards my fitness objective, at a reasonable cost.
I still haven't had access to the internet resources provided by Polar, but for what I have now, I think I've got a good return of my investment. Let's just see how it performs on durability.
Polar FT40 Simple and easy to use.
I'm not new to fitness, but it has been a while since I've been serious about it. This watch is easy to setup and use. The menu system is intuitive, its functions are clear. The heart rate monitor also links up with the machines at the gym, so it displays my heart rate real time without having to grasp the bars on the machine. Very easy to keep your heart rate where you want it when it is right in front of you. When you are away from the cardio machines, you can have it set with an audible sound to let you know if you fall out of the range you want to be in. That range being fat burning or fitness. Customizable user setup and maximum heart rate.

Have used this HRM for 6 months, works very well. Nice to know what rate to maintain for burning fat and what rate to maintain for cardio.

I was in need of a new heart monitor to replace my older Polar. I wanted one that would show me the duration of the workout and my current hear rate on the same screen without having to scroll through. This monitor has satisfied that need. I also really like that is tells me what zone I am exercising in, either a fat burn or fitness zone. This is figured out by the information you provide the unit during set up. The one draw back for me is that the numbers are a little small and tough to see sometimes during exercise. This could simply be my eyes getting bad. Nice job Polar

I use it for swimming and no issues, had to use a different a different transmitter because of the constant water use. It does everything i want an more.
Polar FT40 Best ever.
My brother was dying for this. Bought it for him and he takes it with him everywhere. He's at the gym now more than ever! Great buy and so affordable!

Purchased this heart rate monitor after a lengthy search of various models and manufacturers. I am very happy with the quality of the device as well as the simplicity of its operation. It only required a few minutes with the manual and I was up and running, confident in my ability to use the device. The menus are fairly intuitive and the controls are simple but effective.
The wrist unit is comfortable, nice flexible soft rubber band. The chest strap is also quite comfortable, easily adjustable and machine washable (with snap on sending unit removed).
I have little experience with heart monitors but feel this device is delivering everything I wanted in such a unit. I am quite pleased and find the ability to constantly monitor my heart rate a terrific help in my workouts.

I have found this product to be very reliable and easy to use (I have used it extensively for about a month now). It is a very good product, and the Polar website is easy to use and extensive. This is a great tracking and training device for anyone trying to get in shape or stay in shape. I highly recommend this product to anyone.

OK, I'm very happy I bought this and it's making a big difference in my approach to exercise. I even hit my goal weight yesterday! Yet I wanted to mention a couple of things I've observed that I wish Polar would look at to improve its future products. I'll probably be a customer for life. First off, you probably know that when you finish your workout this device will tell you how much time you spent in a fat-burning zone and how much time you spent in a fitness-improvement zone. Way cool. But I wish it would tell me those cumulative times -during- the workout. Today, for instance, I was shooting for 45 minutes in my fitness zone. Once I was finished and getting ready to shower I took the monitor out of the workout mode and reviewed my data. Turns out I had slipped into my fat-burning zone on and off for eight of those minutes - not a big deal but I would have kicked it up a bit or gone a bit longer if it had been easy to check. Also, while it's true I could have been watching the monitor more closely, it's not that easy to do with over-forty-year-old eyes bouncing up and down on an elliptical or while in the pool. So a bolder display wouldn't hurt. Get someone with poor vision on the design team.

I am very satisfied with this Polar. I replaced an old one and it was definitely a great choice. You can control your heart beats while checking calories burned. At the end of every session it shows the total calories spend, and the % of fat burned.

i got my watch long b4 xmas it was the best gift to self ever thank you so much for the fast service.

I'm a certified Personal Trainer and Spin Cycling Instructor as well as a 4x Guinness World Record Holder in various ultra endurance events. I highly recommend the FT40 because it provides total calories AND percent calories from fat, which is very helpful in weight loss training program design. It also provides total duration of workout and time spent in one's "Fat Burning" Zone (50-65% of MHR) and "Fitness Zone" (65-80% of MHR). Also provides V02 testing. The watch is very user friendly and a favorite of my clients. Price point is also good. No stopwatch feature, but thats why they made stopwatches :) I prefer the FT40 over the companion and higher priced FT60.

The strap gives a good steady heart rate. The display is easy to read (especially the regular time setting, it helps my middle aged eyes tell time.) The breakout of fat burning vs fitness time is pretty cool. This watch has a lot of functionality if you take a little time to figure it all out.
